7 November – Launching Forward – Women and Work in the Arabian Gulf

While labour force participation rates for women in the Middle East region have remained low over the past several decades, several Arabian Gulf countries have made significant gains with initiatives focused on activating women into paid work.

During this workshop, participants will explore different types of policies and initiatives that have taken place to increase women’s employment in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. The workshop will be lead by the founder and Director of W4SG, Jaleh Taheri, who will share insights and stories from her experiences in working with this region for the past 7 years.
The workshop will be held in English.

Time: 7:00-8:30 PM
Place: The UF office (located in the basement of Ekonomikum)
Admission: Free for members, 60 kr for non-members. A one-year membership can be purchased at the event for 100 SEK. We only accept payments in cash or by Swish.
