Activity
The Activity Committee is focused on organizing events and social gatherings that bring members together in a meaningful way. From quiz nights and fundraisers to study visits, film festivals, language exchanges, election nights, theme parties, workshops, gasques, game evenings, pub crawls, and biannual recruitment events like Get Active—there is always something happening.
At our meetings, we plan and brainstorm new ideas, working on multiple projects at once to keep the atmosphere dynamic and engaging. We focus on creating enjoyable, unique events that not only entertain but also spark interest in international relations in a relaxed and social setting.

Become an Activity Trustee
The Uppsala Association of International Affairs recruits Activity Trustees at the start of each operational year (August-September). As a trustee, you’ll work alongside the Heads of Activity to organize a variety of events. This role requires creativity, commitment, and a focus on delivering impactful experiences.
What We’re Looking for in Trustees
- Responsible, independent, and passionate about global affairs.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness to develop communication skills and expand your professional network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute ideas for upcoming lectures during group meetings.
- Reach out to potential speakers and extend invitations.
- Assist in introducing speakers and providing support during events.
Being a trustee isn’t just about organizing lectures—it’s an opportunity to engage with influential figures, spark important discussions, and grow within a community that shares your interest in international affairs.
Are you the next head of Activity?
The operational year at UF Uppsala begins on July 1st.
Each spring (April–May), applications for positions open through our website and social media channels. If your profile matches a role you’ve applied for, you’ll be invited for an interview. The Election Committee will then review candidates and nominate individuals for each position.
The final decision is made at the Spring Annual Meeting, where UF Uppsala members vote to elect the new board. Most roles include a seat on the board, giving you voting rights and a key role in shaping the association. Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings throughout the year.
Profile for a Head of Activity
As a Head of Activity, you will oversee the planning and execution of UF’s recurring events, such as gasques and Get Active, while also organizing additional activities based on ideas from the team or members. Beyond the core events, your role may involve coordinating film screenings, election nights, game evenings, and other social gatherings.
You will serve as a project leader, providing members with opportunities to propose and lead their own initiatives, contributing to their personal and professional growth. The role involves managing multiple activities simultaneously, requiring strong coordination and follow-up to ensure events run smoothly. The level of involvement can vary depending on the size of the activity group and the timing of upcoming events.
Meetings with the activity group occur weekly or biweekly, and additional planning will be required with the administration and board members. This role demands strong organizational skills, leadership, and the ability to delegate tasks effectively, especially when managing multiple activities at once.
Being an Activity Coordinator is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in event planning, leadership, and team management, all of which can benefit both your studies and future career.
