Since its foundation in 1948, the Uppsala Association of International Affairs has been working to maintain a serious coverage of, and encourage debate concerning, foreign politics and international affairs. We do this through bi-weekly lectures throughout the academic year, the broadcasting of a weekly radio show, our magazine, travels and much more.
Over the years, we have invited a variety of interesting people to hold lectures; from environmental activists and journalists to ambassadors and politicians. Among past lecturers you can find Herbert Tingsten, Per-Anders Fogelström, Alva and Gunnar Myrdal, Olof Palme, Günther Wallraff, Boutros Boutros-Ghali, Anna Lindh, Hans Blix, Mohamed El-Baradei, Carl Bildt, Göran Persson, Kofi Annan and Ban Ki-Moon.
The lectures are free for members, while non-members pay 60 SEK. A membership for one year is for free, which you can register at one of our lectures or here at our website. Included in the membership is our magazine Uttryck, printed three times a year, the possibility to partake in study circles, working groups, parties, trips and much more!
