Since its foundation in 1948, the Uppsala Association of International Affairs has been working to maintain a serious coverage of, and encourage debate concerning, foreign politics and international affairs. We do this through bi-weekly lectures throughout the academic year, the broadcasting of a weekly radio show, our magazine, travels and much more.
Over the years, we have invited a variety of interesting people to hold lectures; from environmental activists and journalists to ambassadors and politicians. Among past lecturers you can find Herbert Tingsten, Per-Anders Fogelström, Alva and Gunnar Myrdal, Olof Palme, Günther Wallraff, Boutros Boutros-Ghali, Anna Lindh, Hans Blix, Mohamed El-Baradei, Carl Bildt, Göran Persson, Kofi Annan and Ban Ki-Moon.
The lectures are free for members, while non-members pay 60 SEK. A membership costs 100 SEK for one year, which can be purchased at one of our lectures or by depositing the fee to plusgiro 36 50 10-8. Included in the membership is our magazine Uttryck, printed three times a year, the possibility to partake in study circles, working groups, parties, trips and much more!
