From Afghanistan to Colombia – Options for Action in Promoting Peace

Preventing conflicts, handling crises and armed conflicts and eventually establishing peace is best done if based on a solid conflict analysis. A conflict analysis is essentially a map in 1:100 000 including all actors, their interests and structures for peace and conflict. But how is a conflict analysis produced and what use, if any, can actors make of it?
Björn Holmberg started off at the Department for Peace- and Conflict Research at Uppsala University and has since then worked all over the world. This includes peace and human security in Latin America, Africa and Asia for the UN Secretariat, Sida, OECD-DAC, at embassies, the Swedish Migration Agency and for the civil society.
