How a bi-lateral civil society organisation can be created and active – a discussion with Women for Sustainable Growth:
Civil society has an important role within international affairs. It has the power to build strong relationships across borders in ways that business, government and academia often can not. Women for Sustainable Growth (W4SG) is the only bi-lateral civil society organisation that works between the Nordic and Gulf Cooperation Council states. It was founded in 2012 by individuals from both regions who believed that it was important that we work more closely together.
Jaleh Taheri, Founder and Director of W4SG, and Karolina Lindén, Sweden Country Manager, will share the story of W4SG and reflect on what has been successful and what hasn’t worked as planned. They will also discuss what power, but also limitations, an association like W4SG has.
The presentation and discussions will be tailored for individuals who want to engage themselves in an international NGO or even start one of their own. It can also be relevant for individuals who aim to start an international career as it can be a value to understand how such organisations run and operate.
More information about W4SG can be found at w4sg.org.
Of course there will be fika!
