Secretary General for Amnesty Sweden’s Anna Johansson will in this lecture discuss the human right situation in Iran. Since the death by the Iranian Guidance Patrol on Mahsa Jina Amini, Iran has gotten erupted with protests. Hundreds of people, including children, were killed in the protests and many other has been imprisoned and tortured.
What is happening now with the human rights of girls and women? How are ethnic minority groups affected? And why are so many people sentenced to death in Iran?
These question will be raised and answered in the lecture. And Anna Johansson will also talk about Amnesty and the work they are doing for human rights in Iran at the moment.

About the lecturer:
Anna Johansson is the Secretary General for Amnesty since 2021. She has an Fil. mag. In history of international economics from Stockholm University. She has served as chef in third sector organisations in Sweden and UK for 15 years.
She has an background in issues regarding social justice, homelessness, asylum and migration, and human trafficking.
