In this lecture Emelie Andersson — an artist within Clown Without Boarders — will explain their work, share experiences and talk about the healing power of laughter.
Emelie has recently returned from a tour in Costa Rica, where Clowns Without Borders works with children who grow up in poverty and vulnerability. Emelie has also been working in Nigeria, where the organisation meets children fleeing from the terrorist group Boko Haram.
Clowns Without Borders was founded in the aftermath of the Balkan war and since its inception in 1996 has met and worked with over two million children in the world’s war and disaster areas. The organisation’s members are professional clowns, circus performers, musicians and actors who all engage with the common denominator – the desire to influence and change with the help of their art.
Join this lecture to hear more about their work, the organisation and Emelies personal reflections of her experience as a Clown Without Boarders.
