January 14 – Economic Growth or Sustainable Development?

Despite the fact that economic growth is included in the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, an increasing number of scientists and commentators are questioning if an exponentially growing level of consumption is compatible with ecological sustainability. In the research project “Beyond GDP growth – scenarios for sustainable planning and building” four alternative futures that are not dependent on economic growth are explored.
