UPPSALA ASSOCIATION OF INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS AND UPPSALA FORUM WELCOMES YOU TO A TWO PART LECTURE ON THE 3RD AND 6TH OF FEBRUARY (FREE FOR EVERYONE)
Contrary to prior polling, projections from experts and the majority of the world’s expectations, Donald J. Trump won the presidential election of the United States. During the five days since his inauguration he has taken lots of action already. He has started the process of replacing ObamaCare, he has signed a presidential directive that prohibits federal funding for organizations that provide abortions and an executive action to withdraw from the
Trans-Pacific Partnership. What will the international implications be if he follows through on his isolationist stance against Mexico and his skepticism against NATO?
MAKING SENSE OF TRUMP PART ONE – WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT? –
FRIDAY THE 3RD of February: Cosette D Creamer, Visiting Assistant Professor at Boston University School of Law and a coordinated JD-PhD Candidate in the Department of Government at Harvard University, is coming all the way from the US, visiting UF Uppsala to talk about the implications of a Trump administration mainly focusing on the consequences for US engagement of global governance, international law and institutions.

The next question on the whole world’s mind is: how could Donald Trump become elected as the president in the first place? Who is a Trump supporter? What was the strategy of the Trump campaign? Which were his key demographics and what in his message spoke to them?
MAKING SENSE OF TRUMP PART TWO – WHAT HAPPENED? –
MONDAY THE 6TH of February we are proud to present Professor Desmond King, who is an Andrew Mellon Professor of American Government at the University of Oxford. Professor King will travel from England to give us his perspective on the why’s and what’s of Trump’s success.
