MEET THE BOARD 2022/2023

The Board 22/23 is all set and we want to open up about who we are, what our interests are and what we do at UF. First and foremost we want to let you know that we are here to do our best to further international debate by giving all members of UF something that they are interested in. We are an open book, and every person that is part of the board is always open to hear from your ideas, learn and come up with the highest quality of results in everything we put out.

Come, meet us, and let us hear from you too if you want to get involved.

Aren't statistics fun?

From far far away

Where do we come from?

An incredibly diverse year for UF, this is! What better way to represent an association of international affairs than to have people from all continents sitting in the board!

Our team also combines a variety of languages, Chinese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Japanese, Indonesian, French, and more!

Girls!

Distribution of the Board by gender

It is no surprise that the UF Board 22/23 has been doing incredibly well and will continue to do so the rest of the year, it is run mainly by girls! 👧🏼👧🏻👧🏽👧🏿

All four highest positions (President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer) are occupied by girls and each one of them has been executing their job flawlessly! Oh, if only the world would learn and get behind the lead of more common sense and less testosterone.

Young spirit

Distribution of the Board by age

As it is usual in UF Uppsala history, all board members are currently studying a Bachelor’s or a Master’s program at Uppsala University. We belong to different generations with different perspectives on world politics, but at the end of the day, UF Uppsala has the youngest of souls!

Down below you will find a personal introduction from some of our board members, remember to always reach out if you have questions or want to keep in touch with us and our work!

This is us

LIST OF BOARD MEMBERS

CECILIA CHAU

President

Cecilia sits in the highest chair of UF, and she leads our way to encourage engagement in foreign affairs and all other UF activities and events. She takes the mandate on first-hand administrative matters (ooh, how tiring!) and has a strong conviction to integrate the UF team into one entity, whose heart beats hard for fulfilling our goal to further international debate. UF could be cohesive, hard-working, and fun ONLY if the right person sits the highest chair, and we happen to be lucky enough to have gotten THE ONE!

"My responsibility is the board’s development, the association’s cooperation, and all things related"

Themes of interest in Foreign Affairs

What do you like the most about UF Cecilia?

"The amazing members and board members in UF"

Do you want to know more about me or my work? Hit me up! I’m always willing to help out.

SIGNE ANDERSSON

VICE-PRESIDENT

For a planet to have any kind of life, it needs to spin around a sun, isn’t it? Well, Signe is the sun giving us that warmth and light in UF. Signe holds the second administrative chair in UF and she does it with the most enjoyable of personalities, attitudes, and conviction. What a star!

"My main task is to help the President in her responsibilities, run and develop the organization with the main focus on internal contact, social cohesion and the integration of trustees"

ALEJANDRO VELAZQUEZ

HEAD OF PR

Alex is working in reforming UF’s digital channels and improving the visual identity of the association. The ultimate goal for Alex is to use every communicational tool available to attract younger generations into the international debate, to let them know that there is a terrifying world out there, full of injustices and negligence, but there is always hope if we dare to educate ourselves about what is happening outside our bubble of privileges, and use our voices for something greater in benefit of every citizen of the world.

To take the lead of all communicational matters of UF, an association with 7 decades of history, is a scary task to say the least. But we don't know fear, do we?
