Many of our preconceived notions about American power and leadership have been challenged since Donald Trump took office. Is the U.S. abandoning its dominating position in the world? This lecture seeks to place this discussion in a larger context by examining how the United States has related to the world over time and how it has tried to influence it.
Dag Blanck is Professor of North American Studies and Director of the Swedish Institute of North American Studies at Uppsala University. He is also a recurrent commentator on American politics in Swedish television.
