Following the Heads of lecture, we have the Heads Following the Heads of lecture, we have the Heads of Activity! The main objective of the role: - Arrange fun events with a focus on foreign affairs - The rule of thumb is that about 80% of all events held by the activity group should have a focus on foreign politics Strengthening the UF community - Creating a space were people interested in foreign affairs can get to know each other better Note: The activity group is highly flexible in that the heads of Activity are very free to divert from the list below (with the exception of get active). The events that usually are arranged during the year: - Get Active (a sort of fair the heads of activity arrange each term to promote all UF groups) - Election watch parties / Election wakes - Internal christmas parties - The UF spring gasque - Board game nights - Quizes - Pub Crawls The core and most significant type of work performed by the Heads of Activity: - Coordinate activities - Usually entails finding venues, getting food and decorations etc. - Holding Activity Group meetings, normally weekly, where members can brainstorm and help arrange events together with the heads and the trustee. - Attending board meetings - Arrange Get active
Today it is our pleasure to introduce our two head Today it is our pleasure to introduce our two heads of lectures, Heidi and August. Their main responsibilities are; - Organising and coordinating lectures every Wednesday within the topic of foreign affairs for our members. - Being an integral link between the Lecture Group and the UF board. - Supporting and developing the work of our trustees, and ensuring that we create a safe and comfortable space for members who are interested in participating in the Lecture Group. - Networking with different actors, and making certain that we represent UF externally with the utmost professionalism. The lecture group gets to plan and organize lectures and debates with prominent people in foreign affairs, for example by; - Collaborations with other organisations that may have different perspectives (for example lecture on Trump with Dag Blanck and SINA and coronavirus panel debate with IFMSA). - Panel debates with prominent national political actors, such as a debate on Swedish foreign affairs with various political party members. People with large name-recognition draw the most people (Ann Linde, Peter Hultqvist, etc.).
On today's agenda we have the UFS Representative, On today's agenda we have the UFS Representative, Per! What does the UFS Representative do? - Represent UF Uppsala and its interests at the national board - Represent the national board in Uppsala - The position has two roles as the representative sits on two boards. It requires a fine balance where the representative should express the will and wishes of the local board, as well as promote and support the final decisions taken by the UFS. The UFS representative must see both to the good of the local and national association. Most fun event under the position: There is no event (or the like) specifically under the responsibility of the UFS Representative. The position leaves room open for each single representative to join the planning of other events, both locally and nationally should they wish so. The core and most significant work performed as UFS Rep: - Attend board meetings. In total two each month, one local and one national. - Attend other meetings, Nationally: the UFS Rep. chooses to join a committee (can be Economy, Marketing, and so forth. Decided by the UFS presidium at the start of the operational year). The UFS Rep. attend committee meetings and do committee work. If the UFS Rep. so wishes they can join the planning of national events such as the Forum Weekends, but not a requirement. Locally: the UFS Rep. is a member of the presidium and therefore attends the presidium meetings. Additional work, such as for example grant applications, and be an activity the UFS Rep. does, but that is up to each new UF Uppsala presidium. Otherwise the UFS Representative’s work is just to have a knowledge of what is happening in UF Uppsala, in the UFS/SAIA, and the other Member Associations.
Beyond the PR committee the positions within Uttry Beyond the PR committee the positions within Uttryck are among the most creative within UF. Here we present the two positions that are available to apply for to the board; the Editor-in-Chief and the Web Editor-in-Chief! Editor-in-Chief The two editors-in-chief are responsible for coordinating the work with the printed version of UF Uppsala’s member magazine Uttryck. The editors-in-chief have the ultimate responsibility of filling the magazine with interesting material, keeping the work on schedule, and making sure that the magazine goes to print three times a year. The editors-in-chief should serve as a link between the Uttryck Magazine and the UF board and take active participation in board meetings and other board-related matters. The core tasks of the Editor-in-Chief are; - Giving writers feedback on their texts - Planning the work with the printed magazine together with the other editor-in-chief and coordinating the work with the editorial team. - Planning other Uttryck-related initiatives together with the web editor-in-chief (and sometimes other work groups) The Web Editor-in-Chief The web-editor-in-chief is responsible for coordinating the work with the online version of UF Uppsala’s member magazine Uttryck. The web editor-in-chief has the ultimate responsibility of filling the web magazine with interesting material, keeping the work on schedule, and making sure that the website stays updated with correct material and information. The web editor-in-chief is also responsible for making sure the website stays as protected and secure as possible. Thed core task that is done as a Web Editor-in-Chief is: - Performing individual feedback work with writers on their texts. - Searching for and establishing contact with writers and other contributors. - Promoting the web magazine on social media and other platforms and channels. - Planning the work with the web magazine. - Coordinating the work with the web editor. - Coordinating and planning other Uttryck-related initiatives together with the other editors-in-chief (and sometimes other work groups).
Head of Debate; The main objective of your role: Head of Debate; The main objective of your role: - Organize meetings for the Debate Club - Instruct members in the British Parliamentary style of debate. - Organize competitions for members. - Keep in contact with other Debate Clubs, to organize mutual events. The most appreciated events or projects usually under the supervision of your role: - The Debate Club meetings, as well as the social event afterwards usually involving going to a nation (when allowed). - The core and most significative type of work performed in your role - Coordinate and organize activities with trustees. Going to a nation afterwards (when allowed). - Attending board meetings. - Voting with the other Swedish universities Debate Clubs on the location for the World Universities Debating Championship (WUDC).
Head of Radio; The main objective for the role: Head of Radio; The main objective for the role: - Facilitate for the planning, recording, editing and publishing of episodes through Radio UF - Create a safe and social environment where the members of the radio group get to personally develop and strengthen their radio skills and knowledge of foreign affairs - Support new members and teach them about our work habits as well as technical skills needed as a radio member - The best/most entertaining/most appreciated events or projects usually under the supervision of your role - Planning radio episodes by having regular meetings - Record live episodes as often as there is time and resources for it - Being able to combine the radio work with other social activities with the group such as hang outs etc. - (More relevant when covid-19 is over) Cooperate with other groups in UF or other radio groups in other UF-associations The core and most significative type of work performed in your role: - Coordinate the meetings, recordings and editing of the episodes - Make sure that the finalised episodes are published online - Attend board meetings - Coordinate the requests and information given by both - Studentradion and UF

The purpose of the president is to; - Plan and act out the general direction for the association - Facilitate others’ work by keeping track of how everybody is doing as well as assisting with advice and directions. - Embody and maintain a good image for the association The Vice Presidents purpose is to; - Mainly represent the organization internally - Make sure the organization runs smoothly and continues to develop. Remember that applications for the UF Board of 2020/21 are open until Friday 🌎 Describe your post in one sentence! 🌎 -Being president of UF Uppsala involves a number of stricter responsibilities such as overseeing the day-to-day operations, managing the finances and leading the work in the board, as well as great opportunities to shape the role by setting the agenda for the operational year’s organisational development! What has been your favorite thing about your post? 🌎 -Hands down to see the association grow bigger and better through the amazing work of our board, trustees and active members! Taking part in one of the many events our groups organise and to see how professional it is just makes me feel proud to be part of the association, and privileged to oversee it. What is your best UF memory? 🌎 -After being involved for many years, it is difficult to just pick one. Although the opportunity to meet UN-diplomats, politicians, activist and other professionals I look up to has been a once-in-a-lifetime thing, my strongest memory is from planning meetings with our active members, board meetings and workshops with the board and after-hours budgeting. It might not be as glamorous, but it is there that I have met people I will probably have in my life for a long time ahead, and I have learned skills my courses at UU can’t provide. Getting involved in UF is absolutely the best decision I have made! What are three words of advice you would give your successor?🌎 -Plan well, dream big, but first, APPLY!
Today, we would like to introduce you to our creat Today, we would like to introduce you to our creative and hardworking Heads of PR Rebecka Bjuremalm and Alicia Nathanson Thulin! Remember that applications for the UF Board of 2020/21 are open until Friday🌎 Describe your post in one sentence! 🌎 -Making foreign affairs look good since 1948:) What has been your favorite thing about your post? 🌎 -That would be being able to spend time on our interests in graphic design, illustration and photography in such an open and creative atmosphere. It has also been great to be so actively involved with all the different groups within UF, getting to know all parts of the association well! What is your best UF memory? 🌎 -Alicia: The kickoff with the board and the gasque to welcome the new trustees was really fun. Also the everyday work and our weekly meetings in the PR-group has been great! -Rebecka: There are so many! Besides our incredible board kickoff, I will fondly remember all the everyday hangouts with my fellow board members. A particularly good moment was when our song books were delivered, flipping through the pages of the first UF songbook ever was amazing. What are three words of advice you would give your successors?🌎 -Dream big, plan far ahead and collaborate often!
