Utrikespolitiska föreningen i Uppsala in collaboration with IFMSA Uppsala as part of the Uppsala Sustainability Festival
Dr. Sujit Kumar Brahmochary, founder of the organization Institute for Indian Mother & Child (IIMC), will talk about rural development in India, child- and maternal health and his life lasting project IIMC.
IIMC was founded in 1989, with the mission to support the medical needs of the poor and forgotten people in West Bengal, India. Today, IIMC has expanded its activities to include not only health care, but education,micro financing and agriculture- and rural development projects.
Hear about the challenges of India today, Indian rural and environmental development, the process of empowering women in rural areas and how to get involved through the sponsorship- and volunteering programs.
