Become an Uttryck Trustee

The Uppsala Association of International Affairs recruits Uttryck Trustees at the start of each operational year (around August/September) to take on various roles. Trustees work closely with the Editors-in-Chief to create and organize content, a role that requires creativity, dedication, and a strong work ethic.

If you’re looking to take on the biggest role, by May, UF Uppsala elects the board for the upcoming year, and you could become the next Editor-in-Chief!

What We Look For in Trustees:

We’re seeking responsible, independent, and passionate individuals with excellent organizational and social skills. Whether you’re helping with editing, layout, or producing video content, there’s a place for you in our team.

Editors
As an editor, you’ll focus on the printed edition of the magazine, working alongside the Editors-in-Chief. The role includes maintaining communication with writers, planning editorial tasks, proofreading, and editing articles. You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to layout and illustrations, or even write yourself. The editorial team works closely together, so teamwork is key!

We’re looking for editors who:

• Are creative and innovative
• Have a passion for writing and foreign affairs
• Work well in groups
• Are organized
• No previous editorial experience is required, but any background in editing or writing is a plus.

Layout Editors
As a layout editor, you’ll design the layout for each printed edition of Uttryck using Adobe InDesign. You’ll collaborate with the Editors-in-Chief and the editorial team, working closely with writers and illustrators to bring each issue to life. This role offers a lot of creative freedom but can be demanding, especially in the weeks leading up to print.

We’re looking for layout editors who:

• Have an interest in graphic design and layout
• Are creative, responsible, and enjoy teamwork
• Are comfortable working under deadlines
• Familiarity with Adobe InDesign is helpful but not required.

Video Producer
To expand Uttryck’s digital presence, we’re looking for a video producer to create video and audio content that complements our written articles. Your responsibilities will include reaching out to potential partners, organizing contributions, and planning and producing digital content for the channel.

We’re looking for video producers who:

• Are innovative, ambitious, and hardworking
• Have a passion for visual media
• Communicate effectively in group settings
• Can turn ideas into reality through short-term project planning
• Have an interest in foreign affairs
