Auditors

The auditors at UF Uppsala are responsible for ensuring that the Board operates in accordance with the association’s bylaws, policies, and financial best practices. Acting in the interest of the members, the auditors provide oversight and transparency in UF Uppsala’s governance.

Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing the Board’s decisions and operations to ensure compliance with UF Uppsala’s bylaws and policies.
  • Examining financial records and ensuring proper accounting practices are followed.
  • Preparing an audit report for the Autumn Annual Meeting, including a recommendation on whether the resigning Board should be granted discharge from liability.
  • Having unrestricted access to all relevant documents and records upon request.

Composition and Selection

Auditors are elected annually at the Spring Annual Meeting. The association must have at least one auditor; if multiple auditors are appointed, one serves as the summoner. Auditors must remain independent and cannot simultaneously serve as Board members, trustees, or members of the Election Committee.

Become an auditor

The operational year at UF Uppsala begins on July 1st.

Each spring (April–May), applications for positions open through our website and social media channels. If your profile matches a role you’ve applied for, you’ll be invited for an interview. The Election Committee will then review candidates and nominate individuals for each position.

The final decision is made at the Spring Annual Meeting, where UF Uppsala members vote to elect the new board. Most roles include a seat on the board, giving you voting rights and a key role in shaping the association. By being an auditor you do not have a position in the board. Auditors are expected to attend meetings throughout the year.

The auditing process concludes at the Autumn Annual Meeting, where the auditors present their report and recommend whether the Board should be granted discharge from liability.

What Makes a Good Auditor?

An effective auditor is structured and detail-oriented. Experience in association and board work is important to successfully carry out the role. Familiarity with UF Uppsala’s activities is also a valuable advantage.
