Choosing Destinations
The travel group decides on destinations that are important in international affairs or offer perspectives not often covered in mainstream media. We usually arrange two trips per academic year, varying in length and focus.

Join the planning
Become a Travel Trustee
At the start of each operational year (August/September), UF Uppsala recruits trustees to help plan and organize key events. As a Travel Trustee, you’ll work closely with the Heads of Travel to arrange two international trips—one within Europe and another to a destination further afield. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a passion for creating meaningful travel experiences.
What We Look for in a Travel Trustee
We’re seeking responsible, proactive individuals with a keen interest in global affairs and event planning. Strong communication and logistical skills are essential, as you’ll play a key role in coordinating every aspect of the trips.
Your Responsibilities
- Organizing two international trips per year.
- Managing logistics, including transport, accommodation, and scheduling.
- Assisting with administrative tasks and ensuring smooth travel preparations.
This is a unique opportunity to take on real responsibility, develop leadership skills, and help create unforgettable experiences for UF members. If you’re ready for the challenge, we’d love to have you on board!
Are you the next head of Activity?
The operational year at UF Uppsala begins on July 1st.
Each spring (April–May), applications for positions open through our website and social media channels. If your profile matches a role you’ve applied for, you’ll be invited for an interview. The Election Committee will then review candidates and nominate individuals for each position.
The final decision is made at the Spring Annual Meeting, where UF Uppsala members vote to elect the new board. Most roles include a seat on the board, giving you voting rights and a key role in shaping the association. Board members are expected to attend monthly meetings throughout the year.
Profile for a Head of Lecture
As Head of Travel, you’ll take UF Uppsala on exciting journeys around the world. You’ll lead the planning and coordination of our annual trips, ensuring everything from flights to accommodations is arranged smoothly. Your role is to foster a positive, welcoming environment for all participants, making sure each trip is both enjoyable and enriching.
Curiosity about the world and a genuine interest in travel are essential, along with some experience abroad. Flexibility and initiative are key, as you’ll balance being a leader and a traveler at the same time. Strong group dynamics and leadership skills will be helpful.
The role involves regular group meetings, about once a week, along with independent planning that can vary in intensity depending on where you are in the process. While it can be demanding at times, it’s also incredibly rewarding and a lot of fun.
