As a UF traveler, you’ll gain unique insights into global affairs by meeting with international organizations, local authorities, institutions, NGOs, and businesses. These experiences offer a deeper, firsthand understanding of the regions we visit and the issues they face.
How do we choose destinations?
Together, as a travel group, we decide on destinations that are either significant in the world of foreign affairs or offer perspectives often overlooked by mainstream media. There are usually two trips each academic year, varying in length and scope.

Become a Travel Trustee: Shape UF Uppsala’s Global Adventures
At the start of each operational year (around August/September), UF Uppsala recruits activity trustees to help plan and organize our key events. As a Travel Trustee, you’ll work closely with the Heads of Travel to organize two exciting international trips—one to a European destination and another further afield. This role requires creativity, dedication, and a strong drive to contribute to the team.
What does it take to be a Travel Trustee?
We’re looking for responsible, independent, and passionate individuals with excellent organizational and social skills. You’ll have the chance to take on significant responsibilities, including planning meetings, handling logistics, and booking transport and accommodation for the trips.
Main Responsibilities:
- Organizing two international trips: one to a European destination and another to a more distant location.
- Coordinating logistics like transportation, accommodation, and event planning.
- Assisting with administrative tasks related to travel preparations.
While the role comes with great responsibility—ensuring the smooth running of trips for a large group of members—it is also one of the most rewarding and impactful positions in the association.
