What is the best thing about UF?
I cannot think of only one, so I will give you three!
Being able to promote, finance and bring truly good and interesting social activities important for civil society's relationship to international affairs to fruition
A place to meet people who think alike (or very differently!) and further one´s perspectives and debates
One big workshop where anyone interested in debates, careerbuilding, lectures, journalism, editing, events or travelling can create and excel even more!
What does your role entail?
As the President, I lead the association and oversee the work of all our departments, each with its own groups, trustees, ideas and responsibilities. A large part of my role is to essentially bring these efforts together and help the board set a direction and clear priorities. I work closely with group heads to offer them support and help solve any problems that may arise. Our events, projects and partnerships are also a part of the President´s role, getting them from the initial conversation to the finish line.
Beyond the board, I represent UF Uppsala in meetings with speakers, partners, sister- and other organizations in Sweden and Scandinavia. I want us to always stay ambitious about what a student association is capable of achieving, while also making sure that our work is just as welcoming and worthwhile for all our members.
Leading the association comes with a lot of responsibility, but the most rewarding part, and what makes it all worth it, is working with a team whose ideas, enthusiasm, and knowledge enrich student life in Uppsala and make international affairs more accessible to everyone.
None of what we do would be possible without them and without our trustees.
