Why did you join UF?
At first I only had interest in joining the debate club as I wanted to become better at speaking in public, debating and learn more about international politics. After being part of the club for a couple of semesters I not only became better at those things, but also became part of a community and had a fun time while doing so as after the debates we went to nations or our office and hung out, played board games or kept debating. After being part of this group I learned more about UF and their organisation and that soon there will be elections and one of the open roles will be the treasurer. I got encouraged to apply for the position by the people in the debate club who also were active members in UF. I was also highly motivated to apply for this role as I got to combine my interest for finance, accounting and international politics and be a bigger part of this amazing community .

What does your role entail?
As the Treasurer, you hold the ultimate responsibility for the financial management and accounting of the organization. Your work includes preparing the annual budget, handling ongoing payments and bookkeeping, and compiling the financial statement at the end of the fiscal year.

Additionally, together with the President and Vice President, you share the responsibility of applying for grants, which constitute UF Uppsala’s main source of income. You also report to authorities and the Swedish Association of Foreign Affairs on how previous grants have been used. As part of the executive board, you play a central role in the organization and gain deep insight into all its activities.
